Reading this thread is making me have that itchy feeling of wanting to go with the 601's even though my MC452 is only about 10 months old!

In the middle of moving so the new Martin Logan ESL 13a's are still boxed. I'm sure the MC452 will be awesome with the ESL's.

But maybe even better with 601's?

I would say that the choice would depend upon the speakers at the end of the chain. For me, my 452 is all I would ever need for my Cremona Auditor Ms / REL B1. Obviously I am not able to push the amp, but I can push the speakers. I have no desire to let my 452 leave my ownership.
