I just sold all my Parasound Halo gears so now I am powering the speakers with a Yamaha Aventage I will be shopping for separates soon. Beautiful speakers. Glad I bought the 803.

Now I have to teach my three dogs not to go near them.

Are you sure these were brand new in box unopened? I find it very hard to believe B&W would have shipped without the transport bolts in place and without hex key which is shipped inside the box that contains the aluminum circular disc that slides over the prongs. B&W has better quality control than that.

They would not ship without the disc/hex key. that is very suspicious.

They were on the pallet with two boxes wrapped with plastic. Dealer called and ordered on Monday and it came on Friday (From NY to LA). It was supposed to come Tuesday next week but it turned out it was shipped via flight.

See serial numbers from attached. I am sure Patrick can confirm. Again- one speaker didn't have the bolts on the back to protect the midrange.

I also found this 1"x2" metal piece on the bottom of the box (it has some adhesive, so i am guessing it fell off somewhere).

Edit: I just found the hex key under the foam.

I just found in one of the boxes near the bottom sitting on the foam(when I rolled the speaker out). Maybe it was meant to be glued to the foam for some California compliance.

Did you have the plate?

I believe that plate that fell off mounts on the bottom of the plinth which you would never see unless you tipped the speaker on its side so I would not worry about it (maybe Patrick can confirm). I saw this plate ID on the bottom of the plinth when I was watching a video or saw pictures of the product being made.

There is of course a permanently attached plate on the aluminum rear fin just below the speaker terminals with the model and serial number which is quite nice looking.

The bigger concern you mentioned was that one of the speakers was missing the transport screws which should not be the case from the factory.

At this point, I just marked this as an oversight by an employee. Things happened. My wife called me "SOL". When I bought a new car, it came with a dent & scratch. If you follow my posts two years ago, I bought a new c2500 and got a refurbish unit .

The dealership I bought has a very good rating. Originally I was going to buy the 804 and put a deposit (was told inventory will be in late Feb/early March). I called the next day and changed to 803.

Yes, the serial number piece on the back looks nice. Exactly what I saw at Magnolia. I just google and you are correct on the piece glue to the plinth. Took a look under and saw one speaker without it.

Btw, looks like the DOM was 16/05.

Maybe your dealer can do you a gift card or something? You should get a mint speaker, no?
