Yeah, I guess Hollywood is a bit different in that aspect; they do care about their appearances, reputations, and bank accounts too. ...Oh well, takes all type of people to make a world I believe.

I think Seth MacFarlane is hilarious. As far as sexist/racist or other criticisms are concern, he picks on everybody equally. Viewers of his shows would know that.

While I recognize his humor is not for everybody (because they may not recognize that his stuff is funny ) he is well credentialed: Seth MacFarlane - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No way sir; not the type of society we want to live in.

You want to make jokes? ...Be creative, positive; be true, and not by depreciating people.
Have real class like Billy Crystal, or Jack Nicholson. ...Well, when they have class of course.

And you got to respect people living in a world of hurt, people who are poor and starving, people who aren't as privileged as others, who are dehumanized, exploited, harassed, and all that very bad jazz.

I'm with Gary on this one...

What we need is to DE-sensitize from things like this. It's comedy. It's a show. He did it well. He got laughs and gasps precisely where he wanted them.

Perhaps if we take our heads out of our collective *$$** a bit more we could actually accomplish something rather than trying to place blame on how naughty/offensive someone's language is.

I had no idea who he was before and after watching the Oscars I will be sure to avoid him in the future. Anyone can make junior high jokes directed at the lowest common denominator. Making fun of people is what junior high kids do before they know better.

Seth MacFarlane does make fun of people, but again, he makes equal fun of everybody. In his comedic sense of poking fun, he is similar to Rodney Dangerfield and Don Rickles.
