You can’t have DSP without the “D”

edit: by definition, in ANY product.

At least, not with those products.

That said, I would easily forego an analog passthrough if the AVR/prepro had the ability to accept and process high resolution, multichannel digital input including DSD and, at least, 24/192kHz.

Interesting. For 2-ch music, I prefer to leave all the digital work to the player and DAC, and just utilize the prepro as an analog preamp, a la Bryston SP3. Fingers crossed to see what the upgrade modules bring before I invest.

But, you'll never be able to use a turntable which is why I'm keeping my SP3. My last upgrade will be in a phono pre-amp and turntable.

I have two turntables but neither has left the closet for years so this is not a relevant factor for me.

Actually, after owning a BDP-3, and with the convenience of accessing every composition I own except those recorded in 5.1 SACD, a phono pre-amp and turntable may be irrelevant to me, too.

Back in the '60s there was a cartoon called, "The Jetsons." On that show music was played on voice command. Who would have thought this would come to reality, and with playback at the highest fidelity. All I need now is the secret to importing my 200 or so SACDs with DSD on a hard drive.

Is that a secret? I have a spare PS3 if you can pick it up in NY.
