Default Corporate Box For Me!!

Yahoo!! I've been invited to the ASB Bank Corporate Box at Eden Park on the 7th March to watch the Pakistan v South Africa World Cup Cricket Game.

Queue lots of wine & quality food whilst hob knobbing with the Corporate Big Wigs. Its a horrible job, but someone gotta do it. Bankers know how to drink, so Ill be taxiing home.

The Corporate Box looks down the length of the Cricket Pitch & the view is breath-taking!!

Ill be backing South Africa- the Pakis have let me down twice & there are rumblings in the Press about decent in the Paki Camp, with the Head Selector spotted in the Christchurch Casio the night before their big loss.

Yesterday the Scots were well beaten by England- good game to watch & the Scots didn't give up. Scottish wife in mourning.

Only 1 game today, West Indies v Zimbabwe in Canberra (Aust). Not a must watch, but could be fire works if Chris Gayle, the WI opening batsman decides to play & not sleepwalk- he is a big 6 hitter!

Follow the game here: 15th Match, Pool B: West Indies v Zimbabwe at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015 | Live Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

The MASSIVE GAME is of course on Saturday with New Zealand & Australia meeting for the first time since 2011- . Eden Park was sold out months ago, the forecast for rain is not good- however, Auckland's weather can change every 10 minutes so I'm hoping for the best. Pity I wasn't invited to the Corporate Box for this game- anyway, its my Father-in-laws birthday that weekend so I will be up-North in Ngunguru & will be watching the game live on Sky TV. If we win that game- Ill be hangover for a week!

Hi Doug, Fast Bowlers can hit over 150k (about 94 mph). The cricket ball is rock hard & can kill Phillip Hughes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The fastest speed officially recorded was Pakistani Fast Bowler Shoaib Akhtar Bowling Speed: 161.3 kmph (over 100 mph)

Top 10 Fastest Bowlers in The History of Cricket. : Sporteology

Its said that the Aussie Fast Bowler, Jeff Thompson was the fastest ever & that he pushed the 180k's (112mph) mark at his peak, but the recording equipment wasn't up to measuring that speed back in the 1970's. I remember watching Jeff Thompson bowl to the NZ Opening Batsman Bruce Edger in 1982 at Eden Park- & its the only time I couldn't watch the ball through the air- & Jeff was well past his prime then.
