New Wireworld Aurora 7 Power Cords

As I embark on an essentially total recabling of my main system, I've just installed, as the second phase of a four phase plan, 4 new Wireworld Aurora 7 power cords that I ordered from Ivan and were installed last evening. Prior to this, I had replaced the interconnects that carry my main output signals from my McIntosh C40 control center to my JBL BX63A active crossover and on to my three McIntosh MC501 amps with Wireworld Equinox interconnects:

The four power cords just installed replaced the stock cords on my three McIntosh MC501 amps, and also the stock power cord on my Wyred for Sound DAC-2.

The new cables are, as are all Wireworld cables, impressive from the get-go, right out of the box with their obvious quality construction.










To replace the cords on the amplifier, it is necessary to pull my subwoofer out to do the job...and a bit of other maneuvering.












Once installed, I had to deal with a preexisting issue that was giving me some hum in my subwoofer. This was a bit mysterious, and needed to be dealt with. Apparently the issue was related to some interferences in other power wiring located behind my Panamax controller, which is a very conjested area. Thie issue distracted me a bit but some redressing remedied the issue and we are ready to go.


Each time I've done a wireworld cable upgrade, I've netted a notable improvement. The previous interconnect upgrade yielded improvements that were not subtle. The power cord upgrade yielded improvements that which at first I felt were not as noticeable as the previous upgrade, but having been evaluating now a bit over 24 hours, I see (hear) that this upgrade is really about on par with the last. I expected an improvement in the bottom end texture and clarity. I did notice an improvement here, but I'm also noting a nice improvement in the midrange liquidity and transparency. This is always welcome of course, and this improvement brings with it an improvement to the system's already excellent soundstaging. In addition, I notice a "blacker" background and a fuller overall presentation, loaded with detail but very smooth, not at all "analytical".

In a word, I find these cables excellent and at an attractive price point. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Ivan, you can expect another order withing the next couple of weeks if not sooner. Next we will address all of the signal cabling that connects the several signal processors in the system, as well as the tuner's signal cable. We'll be looking at at least seven more interconnects. I'm REALLY looking forward to implementing that upcoming phase.

Pete.......Really good to hear the new Wireworld power cables deliver additional improvement to an already fine sounding system. Little by little you are working the cable gremlins out of your system and reaping sonic benefits to boot. Great photos as always.

Two phases to go. Complete the interconnect swap outs and new speaker cables. I am happy for you because I know how long you have wanted to do this and how excited you are at the improvements you are hearing now that you are underway. Happy listening my friend.
