I need to get both of these artists in my collection. I was fortunate enough to have seen Jimi Hendrix perform the year before his death at in Syracuse, NY at the War memorial auditorium; in May, 1969. I wasn't quite 11 years old. Quite a memorable show.

Neptune which I have on CD is rated in TAS as off the charts (5 bars for Music and Sonics). Unfortunately, I have't cracked the seal yet (too busy).

I was born too late. I missed the Doors, Hendrix ect...

I worked band security for bands at their career expiration date, when younger. Stevie Nicks (300lbs, wasted, falling into the crowd)
Heart ( Big and had wigs, which they pulled off after the concert, scared the sh.t out of me), The Cars bus....that was fun. Not a bunch of good looking fans trying to get on, like in the movies. More of a Dawn of the Dead experience!

I purchased the Hendrix, Valley Valleys of Neptune LP, and really didn't like it all that much.

I have one Johnny Cash CD, because my wife likes to hear his music, but I'm not really a fan of his music.

I was out and found the review, you mentioned at our mall book store.
Now he really liked it! It did not hit my 5 bar mental chart. But a must own for Hendrix fans. My 5 year old, makes me play track 6, over and over.

If he likes it, and I can introduce him to Jimi because of it (w/o video), that alone makes the cd great in my arena.
