Ella Fitzgerald's 100th Birthday Today
In honour of Ella Fitzgerald's 100th birthday today, I'm having an Ella marathon, where I'm playing all twenty of my Ella CDs and SACDs. Up right now is my Analogue Productions SACD of Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie. Everyone please play some Ella today to honour the Queen of Jazz and a wonderful lady on her birthday.

Here's to an amazing talent - will put on some tunes from "Twelve Nights in Hollywood". Great suggestion! The WSJ ran an article this week about her that really put her versatility and top-notch singing front and center.

She was indeed an American gem. I was so happy that Verve remastered her songbook series; such great sound. I have often wondered how things would have been so very different if Berry Gordy had discovered her. Ella and the Fella's on Dick Clark's American Bandstand? ack!
