PS. I just did a google search and there ARE several ways of extracting the audio from Blue-Ray discs as well.

Yes, thank you, I'm aware of that.

But the issue here is: purchasing.
When streaming services will offer high quality 5.0 or 5.1, then I will consider not buying physical media anymore.

For now, as long as I desire to hear delicious sounds from all sides, I first have to buy them (physically or downloads).

Hello. For myself, I continue with CD and 2 channel SACD's. I have 2 McIntosh mcd550 CD players that allows me to be lazy and "jukebox" back and forth between selections, or A - B comparison between different copies of the artist. My last vinyl lp was Rush --- Power Windows in 1985 and my last cassette was The Rippingtons --- Topaz in 1999 (I still had a vehicle with a factory cassette player at the time). I haven't looked back since. Unfortunately most of my music purchases are only available through the internet (mainly Amazon) as local businesses are fading into oblivion. I miss going into a shop and browsing through the selections and finding a copy without a cracked CD jewel case.
