Default Background Music

I was doing a lot of stuff on my laptop this afternoon in my two-channel room and wanted some music that wouldn't interrupt my train of thought. I don't listen to much Enya but I couldn't have picked a better artist for the day. Her "Dark Sky Island" was not intrusive but well recorded.

Anyone else have a go to artist/album when background music is required?

Schiff. Beethoven or Schubert. Sometimes Bach.

For me most classical music works well for background listening. I'm lucky that I get to work from home and my home office is also my listening room.

Jim, classical does it for me most of the time, although sometimes when I'm working in the room next door and in the zone, classic rock provides a bit of momentum that is welcome, without being distracting.

Generic 'smooth jazz' or 'classic piano'. Not very creative, but the music is not the point, the conversation is.

I also like classical for background. If I'm getting bored of that, I really like Paul Cardall with his piano. I've also enjoyed the Piano Guys for a little livelier background.

For background music, I always choose instrumental or very little vocal music. Enya is pretty good though.
