Audio Note DIY NOS R2R DACs
Hey guys, in response to Dan's "Schiit Yggdrasil DAC piques my attention" thread, I started thinking more about R2R DACs. I'd like to find out if anyone here has built one of the Audio Note DIY NOS R2R DACs. I don't want to turn this into a delta sigma vs. R2R debate. I'm just interested to hear real world experiences and comparisons that some of you guys may have done.
Thanks, Wes |

I doubt there are many DIY guys who built their own dacs on AA. You would need to peruse the more DIY oriented sites.
For those interested in trying out R2R/Ladder DACs, there are at least a few out there. One is obviously the fantastic US made Schiit DACs and another that seems to relatively popular is Audio-GD of China. The Audio-GD has been reviewed by some magazines and seems to be a decent product. Here is a brief review of Audio-GD R2R 7 DAC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhYXKKabZgc |

I've never heard of that one. I'll have to give that a read. Sounds like you prefer US made ... Me too!!

Yes, I'd much rather deal with Schiit in California than someone in China... Schiit offers a 5 year warranty and I know they will take care of any issues if they arise. Not so sure about a Chinese product and if I'd be happy sending it back to China if needed... This is not meant to offend, just my view on the reality of things.
