Default Oppo UDP-205 On The Way

Congratulations on the purchase. You won’t be disappointed! With this price, you get one gear which basically can do everything except ... amp

I bought mine when it was just released. The only thing I am not happy with is the missing integration with Tidal: it cannot play Tidal even though 105D can! I have to use Roon to steam Tidal, then use 205 as a Roon endpoint. When streaming Roon it also does not support multi channel and DSD.

Running my 203 at the moment while waiting for a DAC. It is a Roon point and I get to spin some CDs in the mean time. Very convenient. Wish I bought the 205 now. The 205 has a coax dig input so I could have used a separate transport. The 203 does not. Oh well, it is not meant to be in the audio system for me to begin with but for the outstanding 4k. Tremendous value these Oppo products!

Thanks Saphana....I really don’t do any streaming so it wasn’t a deal killer for me.

Hi Serge...the UDP-205 with serve both my multichannel and 2 channel system. I’ll even connect my Aurender N100H to it to compare the 205’s DAC with my c2500 DAC.

Fun times ahead.

Paul, I hope you're as happy with your 205 when it arrives as I have been with mine over the past 6 months. One of the best silver disc spinner values out there IMO.
