According to both, it is a hardware limitation in the Oppo.

Both Roon and Oppo support DSD. So why wouldn’t it work? I don’t have DSD files to try but will look into it.

It has to do with the Ethernet input processing on the Oppo, I am told. That makes little sense to me because I can stream DSD and multichannel via Ethernet directly from my NAS to the Oppo. However, this would best be discussed on the Roon website because their personnel monitor and contribute there.

I stream DSD files all the time natively from Roon to my Schiit Loki DAC. Works just fine. Roon supports native DSD.

OK. The discussion is about the combination of Roon and Oppo. Other ports are easy.

Everyone needs to define "Oppp". My Sonica can play up to DSD 512 with Roon...but I assume you not referring to the Sonica when you say "Oppo".
