Music that leaves you a bit dismayed, and yet at the same time, you feel deeply touched by the raw beauty of it.
Truly remarkable chamber music, that conveys more than most symphonies.
Excellent recording.

Shostakovich is always an adventurous listen.
This is a very good cycle.

But what could be the significance of the lobster?

Marvellous interpretations of pieces I never tire hearing.

We saw Olivier Fortin with Skip Sempé a couple of years ago in the intimacy of the Chamber Music Hall in the Brugge Concertgebouw.

Here he can do his - great - thing with his ensemble.

Recommended!

Tony, if only I knew...

I see that more covers of albums of his show food and drinks (fish, beer,...).
Well, I do like lobster.

Bach - Suite française no. 5 - Partita no. 2
Bartók - En plein air - Suite op. 14
Julien Libeer, Steinway piano
Qobuz 24/96

We've seen Libeer quite a few times live already.
He's great.
This is a good album.
The combination of the 2 composers works.
But I still prefer Bach on the harpsichord...

One of the Stereophile R2D4.
With the reverberations up to 22", provoking peculiar sensations!

I bought the discs.
5.0 puts you much more into the experience!

I sometimes like to listen to Classic FM from the UK. In the evening with Margherita Taylor. As the UK is 5 hours ahead of the US eastern time zone, this is the best time to tune in. There is less news and commercials being broadcast.

This music is, OH MY GOSH, beautiful. I'm just sorry that I wasted so much of my life without ever knowing about, or appreciating, the gorgeous music of Arvo Part - and thanks to Bart for changing all of that!

A Harmonia Mundi SACD

Listening in 5.0.
Magnificent!
