Default Another Platinum Starlight USB cable floored user....

I just received mine and really I cannot understand where this magic comes from ?
I connected the cable to my Mc Book Pro using Audirvana Plus on a SSD. To a Musical Fidelity V DAC 192. Coax output ( Can't wait to get back my AES Gold Starlight I let to a friend ) to the MDA 1000 dac.
The improvement over a standard 15 dollars USB cable is incredible.
All the things I read here on AA are true : this is a pure jewel cable and digital never sounded as good as this in my system. The Squeeze Box is completely out of the game.
Played standard 44.1 and hi rez files in Flac 96k and the result is hard to describe : a strange mix of very high resolution and details and SWEETNESS.
I still prefer my TT but the gap has been reduced by a big margin.

Hey Jérôme, it is startling isn't it when the cable does it's thing! For me it was like having a direct link to the music, as if a bottle neck of the sound had been removed & just let it flow. Great choice of cable.

Jerome, thanks for your thoughts on this USB cable. I love mine as well. Very musical and like you said, has a sweetness to it. The more you listen, the more you will like.

Nice to read your posts again, my friend...

Jérôme.......This is impressive. The positive responses from Wireworld Platinum USB cable owners just keeps building. I am a using three meter Wireworld Silver Starlight USB cable and now considering moving to the Platinum USB cable. All of the comments about the performance boost are getting harder to ignore.

Kev, Doug, Dan.....: thanks !
Dan.... : I do not know how good is the Silver Starlight but the Platinum is incredible. You can maybe arrange a loan to try one with your best dealer and compare it against the Silver.
Never a cable made such a huge impression on me, no matter the type of cable ( speakers...analog....).

I found all the WW USB cables to sound very good. I think much of their performance comes from their unique geometry. What the Platinum does for me, over and above the base Starlight (red), is add that sweetness that Jérôme noted so eloquently - I thought the "hard to describe" result was perfectly described

And I also partner the Platinum USB with Gold Starlight AES cable, so when you get this back from your friend, Jérôme, things will only get better. They are a wonderful marriage! Of course, Platinum Starlight AES is probably even better. But I fainted when I looked at the price increase over Gold

Thanks for the input !
Which dac do you use ?
I always preferred the AES input on my MDA 1000 over the overs so yes, the result should be better unless if the AES output of the V LINK 192 is of lower quality than the AES (everything is possible.... ).
I have spent some time lately to listen to various digital cables and the differences can really be amazing.
But I wonder too how much better the Platinum AES is over the Gold one....

Jérôme,

I confess I have too many DACs:
  • MSB Platinum IV Signature
  • Berkeley Alpha DAC2
  • Metrum Octave
  • Teddy Pardo TeddyDAC
  • Wyred4Sound DAC 1
  • Arcam rDAC
  • Wavelength Brick
  • MHDT Havana Balanced
  • MHDT Constantine +
  • Monarchy M22B
  • Theta Pro Prime
and some others in the sous-sol I have forgotten.

But I use the WW cable combinations under discussion on both the MSB and the Berkeley DACs.

At the moment I would prefer not to know how much better the Platinum AES might be

Compared to the list of your DACs, a Platinum AES is a tiny investment !

Perhaps, but to go full circle, the Platinum USB, as you have said, is a marvelous cable. So I have just bought another one. My cable fund is as empty as a Cypriot bank account
