Quite possibly true, but its very subjective. Same goes for the retro styling of the green boxes, some love it, others don't. Personally, I like the retro styling of the cabinets.

I would take them in a heartbeat. For me sound is the controlling factor. But the wide face and 50's styling will deter some.

John,

Whilst I can not speak as a Shindo owner, I too am hesitant at automatically choosing the same brand speakers as the rest of the gear. IMHO, most manufacturers are great at one particular type of component and not necessarily others but the range is completed for those who enjoy one make systems and also to showcase the designer.

It is also inherently more interesting I believe to learn and experience different makes both from a technical and visual point of view.

Most of the super Japanes amp manufacturers like Shindo make rather, imho, funny looking speakers that are different from the "norm" if there is such a thing. They can be super bland looking (Audio Note UK) as well.

With such a plethora of boxes to choose from I think speaker hunting is the most fun!

Forgot the prerequisite picture - as you can see - I have nothing to complain about...I keep pinching myself how fortunate I am...

They look much better in a living room setting than the picture on tone imports!

Hi Matt,

Sorry for asking, what do you mean by " .... ends up being a Stop Gap"?
