Default 6F6G and the Inspire Amp

After the recent discussion about the 6F6 tube, I picked up a pair of Cunningham 6F6G tubes. Paired up with a made in Holland Zalytron 5Y3GT rectifier, and a Psvane CV181-TII input tube the amp sings with a beautiful midrange, great top end a solid bass.

If one runs a pair of 6F6 in a SE triode configuration, what power output will they get? Something around 2-2.5 wpc?

Dennis’ amps use very high quality parts but don’t stray into the ultra-fi zone. Nelson’s designs use high quality parts that are still fairly inexpensive (most of the cost of DIY versions of designs is in the metalwork).

My stock Mundorf/Jantzen caps of of much better quality than any other tube amp I have owned (my 421A amp uses NOS Jensen PIO, so they don’t count, and my old 45 SET was direct coupled), and it is likely I will only be adjusting the flavor of the sound rather than its essential character.
You simply need to experiment and trust your ears.

2 watts is my understanding. DH seems really excited about this tube wire in Pentode (it is a true pentode design) though I have heard it in Triode and it is quite good there as well.

And I was about to give my stash of 6F6s away. Serves me right for staying away from the forum for so long.

I did give my 6F6s away, as part of about 100 tubes that I had no use for. Would still do so as I need more power than what they can produce.

Efficiency is key. I'd like to hear what they can do driving my Altec 14s.

Anyone try the 6F6 metal envelope tubes? I have those and Sylvania & RCA 6F6Gs

Let me know how those Russian 6f6s/6f6g sound after you get an try them. BTW try KT77's with your ProAc's. Dennis recommended I try them with mine and the midrange is glorious.

Default PSE mono-bloc prototypes

I brought these home from the shop last night to finalize the layout for the next pair.
The power trans logos and face plates should be done early next week.

I can't talk about the circuit configuration, but I believe Dennis is finished...... And of course, they sound amazing!!!... straitwire

How are those monoblocks configured? Triode or Pentode? Estimated output power? They look like beasts.
