Avantgarde Acoustics System

OK, its been quite a while since I last posted the Meridian System. What's left of it is the Meridian Sooloos System which continue to be the main music server. Difference is that I have changed the Twinstore to a Media Drive & Media Source 600 combo, with 2 x 4TB storage for my High-Rez music files.

I now have two Turntables, a completely restored Thorens TD125 LB, with a SME M2-12 arm holding to an Ortofon Rondo Bronze, while the Dr Feickert Firebird had two tonearms, the Ortofon RS309D arm with the Royal SPU GM MkII cartridge & a Triplanar carrying the Miyajima Shilabe, all three routed to the Aesthetix Rhea Signature Phono Stage. A Oppo BDP105 complete the Bluray and occasional CD/SACD needs.

Main system are the Avantgarde X Pre Power combo powering a pair of Mezzo G2 Horn speakers. All power supplied thru the Audience Power Conditioner.

Is it better than the Meridian? Let me put it this way, the Meridian offers the ease of use and musicality while this newer system placed the notch slightly higher. It may just be a matter of taste but certainly, I have no complain so far.
