Question for Caelin re: Cable Length
Caelin,
A few years ago, when it came to S/PDIF cables you stated the cable length should be at least 1.5m Does this minimum length rule still apply, and are there any other preferred minimum or range of lengths that apply to any other family of Shunyata cables/cords that we should be aware of for best performance? Dave Edit: Here are the relevant appends: Jul 30, 2016 #10 Hi, First post here on WBF though been following posts for some time, great resource. Having converted my entire loom to Shunyata I have a question re the length of digital cables, presently I have an Anaconda AES 1 metre and wish to add a SPDIF Anaconda. Reading posts on the internet it seems the minimum length for digital cables is recommended to be 1.5 Metres. Should I purchase a 1.5 Metre SPDIF over a 1 metre or is this not a concern with the Anaconda Digital cable. The Anaconda AES cable is used between Bryston BDP1 and BDA2 both with Alpha Digital PC’s, would this be better at 1.5m length? Thanks for any advice CGabriel Industry Expert Aug 28, 2016 #11 I recommend getting the 1.5m as a minimum length unless cable routing and aesthetics take precedence.
