Default Swiss Made

Here are some pictures of Swiss made watches, apparently famous for their solidity and reliability!

Victorinox Swiss Army Alpnach Mechanical Chronograph

Victorinox Swiss Army new model

Urwerk UR-105M new model

The UR-105M is said to be inspired by the armor of the knights of the Middle Ages.

Picto, I can't find a thing on the new model pictured - any info or link? I like it's

clean and solid style...gotta buy one.

Thanks, John

John.......You're probably speaking of the Victorinox Swiss Army new model in the second photo. I couldn't find anything on that model, either.

In case you mean the watch in the third photo, the Urwerk UR-105M is 63,000 Swiss Francs ($72,000) for the Dark Knight version.

That's the one. I've searched and can't find anything on it.

Wowza - $72k !! I'm glad I spent~ that on all my McIntosh instead of a single timepiece. My McIntosh expenditure must be practical, even frugal by comparison. I just posted in Show Your Watch a couple of solid carbide watches that each only cost ~ 1/72 of that one. They're 'beauts' - I couldn't take photos that would look that good.

Thanks, John

I don't understand how this thread went from Victorinox to Urwerk. It's like going from Nad to Boulder

I really like Urwerk as they are very innovative and they are pushing the enveloppe. But this comes at a very high price.

In the same space, you have HYT with the water dial

Or Claret which uses magnet to display the time

Thank you Dan! I wouldn't have found better photos of the UR-105M.

Sorry Georges! I am responsible for this thread mixing Victorinox and Urwerk. The initial common points were just "solidity" and "Swiss Made".

No need to be sorry Bertrand, it was more a tongue in cheek comment

As for Urwerk, the 202 is still my favorite

.

Cute . . . and all those cylinder looking things at the bottom make it look like a juke box. Tiny little records though - wonder if you can get a whole CD's worth of music on each one.

I never thought of this this way. I'm pretty sure they can do it.

Actually, it's the pump system that sends the fluid up and down to give you the time.
