Lio,

Howie here from Hong Kong too. I posted the link to this thread on Review33 in the hope that people wouldn't get ripped off. Sorry to hear about your plight. Glad you are publicising this thread again on local sites.

May be we should get the NYC triads to take him out!

Hi lio, welcome to AA! Sorry to hear MSS HiFi took your money too, we're pulling for you to get something back. MSS appears to use their own website to rip many foreign buyers off. They probably have a good feedback profile on eBay because their prices are a little lower than most, and many buyers won't complain about receiving hot and b-stock merchandise with serial numbers removed as long as they saved some money

Hi there Howie! Nice to see locals here. I saw your post in Review33 but only after being ripped off. I should have checked out the site earlier.

Bradleyc, thanks for your kind words. I actually saw some people who sympathized MSS HiFi in its legal suit with Bel Canto because they were able to get low prices from the seller. But this is not to be confused with getting people's money but not sending the product. This is totally unacceptable.

Default E-Bay is JUST as guilty for letting this continue JMHO...

It's a shame legal action couldn't be taken against E-Bay as well for letting this pond scum continue to use their website to rip people off. E-Bay DOES make a profit from letting Boey continue to sell on their website. Every person the jerk-off a--hole rips off, E-Bay makes $$$$$$$$
.......VERY sad.

Sorry to hear this. Could you try the eBay Buyer Protection since you paid for this item through Paypal?

Lio...sorry for your troubles with those scum bags at MSS Hifi. I would not relent and continue to pursue them with complaints and threatening legal action as vigorously as you can. I know the legal action can get expensive fast but maybe you can get in touch with Bel Canto and their lawyer and see if there is any remedy you can pursue with their help. Good luck and we are pulling for you.

lio,

Welcome to AA!!

I live in Hong Kong as well, and I'm very sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience with MSS HiFi.

I sure hope you find some way to resolve this with MSS HiFi, the best possible outcome being (in my view) to be able to somehow get your money back.

I took a look on Bel Canto's website, and saw that "Hua Fu Hi-Fi Ltd." (Huafu-hifi_»ª¸»ÒôÏì_Tivoli Audio_Á÷½ðËêÔÂÊÕÒô»ú_VTL_Bel canto_°ÔµÀ_Nordost_ÒôÀÖË¿´ø_Piega_±´¸è_Zingali_ºÅÁ î_MARTIN LOGAN_ÂíÌטּù_ADCOM_°®ÇÙ_) is their P.R.C./Hong Kong/Macau distributor, and it is based in Guangzhou, P.R.C.. Their website also mentions that it has an office in the Central District in Hong Kong, so you might want to try giving Hua Fu's office in Hong Kong a call if you are still in the market for Bel Canto products.

I believe that the U.S. M.S.R.P. for the DAC1.5 is USD 1,395, and thus, is only relatively slightly more than what you paid MSS HiFi (USD 1,170). If you somehow manage to get your money back, you can always order the DAC1.5 through Hua Fu, and given the fact that Hong Kong high-end audio dealers almost always price their gear very competitively, I am pretty sure that you will most likely be able to obtain a price that will be lower than the U.S. M.S.R.P.

In any event, please do keep us in the loop regarding your ongoing pursuit of MSS HiFi - trust me when I say that each and every other AA member will be crossing their fingers for you!

Philip

The FBI handles mail fraud. Did you contact them?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Ron,

They did nothing for Jean Luc and his 1.2KWs...
