Indeed some exceptions can exist.

Jeff, my question:

I am thinking to buy AMR DP-777, what you can say about music listening through USB input from PC (or Mac)? I beleive that the sound character DP-777 and CD-77 will be same.
Sergio... There was a shootout here on AA (it has it's own thread) with the AMR DP-777 and it won against the other DACS used. I only tried the DAC being fed by my computer the 1st week or so. It sounded pretty good. The DP-777 is to my knowledge a much better DAC than the CD-777. I bought the CD-777 because I wanted a very good top loading CD player (Non SACD). Which it is. I would like to get the DP-777 myself someday.

Thanks,
Jeff

Sergio... Good luck! I think you will be pleased. If the stand alone DAC is as good as the cd player, you will be!!!

I have rather big collection of original CDs. If I will take DP-777 then I'll get automatically new headache - CD-transport.

For the first time I can take CEC-TL51X, not so bad, also I can tweak it myself. I had this transport for 2 years about, was sold during criisis on Dec 2009.
