Default CI 800 Series, anyone have them?

With Atmos about to enter the market this has me thinking about somehow, someway getting speakers in the ceiling of an apartment. Now the fact I live in an apartment means I cannot drill holes in the ceiling but I had an absurd thought, would it be possible to install in-ceiling/in-wall speakers on the ceiling, not in it?

For example, I was looking at B&W's wall/ceiling offerings and while reading info about the CI 800 series I noticed it mentioned a box can be purchased separately to house the speakers in. I can't find any real world pictures of these speakers and boxes other than their brochure but I was thinking the box probably has a flat back thus perhaps with the appropriate adhesion could be stuck to the ceiling Would having the speakers not being flush to the ceiling in this manner absolutely destroy the sound projection?

Does anyone have these speakers and could give me some info about what these boxes look like.

Thanks,

Rod

I've got the CWM 8.3 3-way speakers and find them absolutely amazing for what they are. They are in my theatre setup along with 802d2 and htm2d2 as my front sound stage.

I really wanted to put a matching 800 series speaker for the rears but my space constraints necessitated me to go for the built-in. I have no regrets and they are awesome! They are very dynamic with the same rohacell bass drivers. I find the midrange and highs also match very well to the front sound stage. The carbon tweeter is really that great. No regrets!

I have already created the rough-in for the ceiling CCM 8.5 if movie formats ever move to that direction.

Btw - make sure you get the corresponding backer boxes.

Thanks for responding.

I'm really glad they blend in with a current gen diamond series setup, that's very nice to hear.

At first I dismissed the back boxes but after additional research have learned how import they are to the overall sound.
