Hey Zimmer, Yes you can use KT170's in your amp physically and electrically.
Your chassis is an 8x10 like the one I posted pictures of.
All of you guys that have the 8x10 chassis can fit the KT170 tube.
I do not currently have a shoulder type input tube to check if they will fit.
I change the circuit configuration in my amp to whatever Dennis is offering at the time.
So I started off the weekend with a 6FLV circuit and output transformers
then switched over to the KT88 type circuit and output transformers Sunday evening.
To me both of these circuits sound great in my system with the KT170.
I ran a 6BX7 then a 6SN7 and per Dennis's suggestion I ran a 6SL7 with a 5U4 or a 5AR4 rectifier, and to me the 6SL7 was the best.
The combination of input tube selection, output tube impedance (and power), rectifier, output transformer impedances, speaker impedance (and design) along with all the other factors
that affect presentation, as well as personal preference will determine whether or not the sound is to your liking.
The speakers I am currently listening to are tuned pipe using a full range driver and a rear firing tweeter.
The subwoofer in the picture is not hooked up.

I also have a Tube Store preferred 274B and it works well.

In my PSE the KT88, KT120, KT150 and KT170 all produce essentially the same output power. There are subtle differences between how my Gold Lion KT88, Tung-sol K120 and Tung-sol KT150 sound. To my eyes the KT88 is just slightly warmer and has slightly less deep bass definition.

Even if the new KT170 is compatible with my PSE, I have to wonder if it would be worth the cost to try them. I suspect they would sound extremely similar to the KT150.

Now if by switching to the KT170, I would gain 5-10 watts of output, then maybe I'd be tempted. But as the output power is limited by the output transformers, I know there would be little, if any, power gain. The amp would need to be redesigned with different OTs and higher voltages and current in order to truly take advantage of the KT170.

Hey Bentan, it's a 6BQ5 amp with a 6922 input tube.
It's the first amp I built when I started working with Dennis again.

Went to the shop today and met Frank, an Inspire family member and a true audiophile.
This man took carboard from a hobby store, some insulation board, and some glue then mounted RCA full range drivers that are older than me and produced a sound that was truly impressive.
He then hooked up the Sony speakers from an old reel to reel and produced imaging that you would be hard pressed to beat.
What a great guy and a true enthusiast.
Thanks Frank...

I had a Ball yesterday with an Audio Legend, Mr. Had!
I definitely wanted to redirect the grand experience to my good buddy Rich M out of Wisconsin...Rich is one of us, crazies and I’m honored to be in his circle. Rich shared the idea about the cardboard and gave the speakers to me as a gift. I’m just blessed to be around beautiful people! And Thank you Rich for moving the needle on this one...better yet, slamming the needle
Trust me when I say...I believe this setup has really made an lasting impression on a Legend!
Also I want to thank Tony as well, for listening with us! I hope you enjoy the Zeniths Tony...they just need love and attention...they have been sitting around 40-50yrs so theyre just a little shy...I definitely think 6sl7 will help bring the best out of them...I’m with you about 6sl7 by the way. Have a great Weekend everyone

Hey SE4life, Thanks for the drivers.
I'll be listening to them later this week.
Really enjoyed the visit, hope you can come back by soon.
