Hello everyone, I am new user and I come from Rome (sorry for my uncertain English).
As a owner of a pair of MC601 I would be happy to move to 611, but reading what the great Ivan wrotes (that I like him and respect strongly, I am an MAC maniac, hehehe ) about the new 1.25kw, (I seem to remember that they liked more the 1.2kw), how will the 611 behave? Will the 611 be better than 601? Last edited by McIntosh-maTRiX; 03-16-2018 at 10:07 AM. |

Nice Review of the 611 at Computer Audiophile.

Very impressive. I have said all along that Mac's are the best buy on the market. If you had to engineer all the features from the ground up the 611's would cost 40 grand/pr. at least. I think he bought the review sample and his speakers were the Wilson Alexx which is a sensitive speaker but requires a lot of current. Again, extremely impressive.
Add. thought: I recently read the review by MF of Stereophile of the CH Precision M1.1 mono amp. It received a very fine review both listening and spec. Speakers were Wilson Alexx with very fine ancillary equipment. However, the cost was 104,000/pr. and the amp was basically no more powerful than the 611 though there were more options such as variable negative feedback and power delivery. I could however point to the Mac autoformers and multiple output taps which the CH didn't have. The main difference was price and of course the joy of owning a beautiful piece of handcrafted Swiss gear. A price can't be put on that. But it does point out the extreme value of Mac gear which frankly to my eye is the most beautiful equipment in the world. Last edited by Charles; 06-12-2019 at 02:51 PM. |

There is more involved then the price difference between the M1.1 and 611, I have heard both through Magico S5 with Esoteric K1 at the local dealer and the CH Precision is on a completely different level.
Sorry no comparison even with the Mac,s autoformers and multiple output taps. |

Hi Charles, your correct it can take alot of tweaking to get a system to gel and sound right but we also know that when you hear a set up it sounds right immediately or it doesnt , it may not be reference quality but you know the fundamentals each individual is looking for in his system is there while other times you hear a system and you know its not it.
While I love the looks of Mac I have just never heard one that sounds right to me and has we know either people like the mac sound or they don't and stats never tell you how its going to sound. |
