Default G80 BMW M3 The Era of the Big Grille

The exaggerated and excessively large grilles era has been upon us for quite some time now. My opinion... Why should BMW be any different? I suppose it is not "terrible" but I'm not a big fan. The rest of the car works for me. Your thoughts?

As one Italian architect once said and I don't recall his name, when it comes to any design, "The Eye Needs to Rest"...

There is much to be said about elegance and beauty of a style arising from simplicity, proper proportions, parallel lines and shapes that are complimentary, without too much curvature for no good reason. A timeless classic, the E30 M3 that did not need a Grille big enough to swallow a North American Moose whole... A small and elegant twin kidney grille was more than enough without resorting to excessive curves and sweeps throughout the body.

In our local M group, I’ve been seeing the teased concepts in camouflaged and rendered versions for a long time. I’m slowly warming up to it. In certain angles and colors they can look the part. I used to joke that the car was so ugly that they had to launch the release in the dark and use lots of smoke [emoji1787]

Hard pass......looks like a giant mouth. Not sure what they’re going for there.
