Toga, when I visited in Nov 2012 you were still single. Congratulations and wishing your better half and you all the best. And I'm sure she understands our hobby, or more importantly, our spending habits that our hobby requires! Btw the dealer has been asking me to try the Montis, with your feedback I'll take up his offer.

Btw, currently listening to a loaned MBL 116F whose soundstage truly captivates me. But the q3 is definitely the better all around speaker, particularly in the mids where the magico is fuller, smoother and more dimensional.

Hi Dafos, Thank you so much and glad to hear from you, hope you are doing fine. I am lucky she loves music too. When we first met, I used Thiel CS 1.6 alternately with Definitive BP2000. And this time she loves the transparent panel of Martin Logan, so no objection from her. I remember I handed her a ring the same day Accuphase DP900/901 were delivered to my home. A story she keep telling her friends. With Montis, room acoustic and placement as well as toe angle are all critical. Let's try them. I found them to be very good value for money. With same set up Q7 will sound much much more laid back and softer. With some experiment with cables and wall, sockets as well,as power conditioner, there is chance Montis will shines even more. But with my set up, they are very forwarding, in a pleasant way, to me. Its bass made me think of the time when I fired two sub woofers behind my car back seat. Toga

@Antipop Here you are, quite a mess for the back of my room. On saperated racks, they are home theater components. Most are old an outdated. Main source is Oppo 93, prepro is Marantz 8003. 3ch amp is Proceed HPA3. And 2 ch amp is Marantz MM7025 for back surrounds. New prepro is on wish list. As well as new 3 channels amp, may be Krell Trio 300. Also new 156" 2.35:1 screen. I am done with 2 ch. This year and next year will be Time for home theater part. Toga
When attach files from AA IPAD APPS, picture quality is rather poor.

Btw, what is that beautiful amp seating between your speakers? On another note, how's the political situation? I'm sure the situation is not as bad as CNN portrays it to be.

Dafos, you missed this news? It's my new amp. Gryphon Mephisto Stereo.

I am sure political discussion here is forbidden, but the answer is yes everything is fine here. They are just a few hundreds meters away from my listening room haha.

Toga, I was planning to upgrade my HT section as well, add a projector and large screen. But I realises that I get much more pleasure from my hifi system and I'm watching less movies.

I can't wait to see what you'll do with the HT part. I'm sure it's going to be spectacular

Toga, thanks for the interesting comparison, regarding the bass issues and overall imaging of the Logans, removing the feet and securing (coupling) to a solid floor with supplied spikes will yield much better results for sure. As a long time Logan guy I can attest to the critical importance in placement and giving them 'room to breath' !

So the Montis gave you but a taste of M/L……… imagine what a pair of CLX's combined with a couple of great subs would do !! Myself having demoed both the Q7's and the aforementioned combo @ Overture Audio , IMO, the quadruple price difference of the Magico makes little sense to me.

Never regret once for buying Q7, but if I have one more similar listening room,
CLX+Balanced Force 212 will fly right there instantly.

The CLX is very good, though if I had the right room and were going for a panel speaker I would buy a pair of Apogee Diva 'Ultimates' fully restored with Graz ribbons by True Sound Works. But I am just more partial to planar magnetic panels over ESL's

Great choice indeed !!

I was too, until Logan improved their cross-over technology which resulted in a more seamless transition between conventional bass driver and stat panel.

Roger (Sanders) speaker, while limited in it's sweet spot and not all that attractive, is superb.
