Default Brand Loyalty

These days I find myself loyal to shindo products and the system approach. The exception being shindo speakers and vinyl playback systems, which are
beyond my budget. To me its similar to owing a German car, in that once you own it, experience how good it is, you remain in the family.

After the purchase of Shindo gear, It's probably the first time I have not been salivating over the latest Lamm, AudioNote or
BAT.

Just curious how many shindo owners are interested in product reviews that aren't specifically related to shindo products. Would you
consider buying products from other manufacturers in a mix and match approach?

I'm still curious about other equipment, but I will always have Shindo in my main system.

IMO, the problem with a pure system approach is that you can be limiting your musical horizons. I love my Shindo gear as much as the next owner, but there is other wonderful stuff out there as well. For example, Shindo does not make a 45 amp or an OTL. I'd hate to deprive myself of hearing those wonderfuly musical products just because Shindo does not offer them. I've experienced tremendous music joy in pairing my Vosne-Romanee with both Shindo and Non-Shindo amps. I will always be extremely interested in Shindo product because I think his musical sensibilities are close to what I am looking for. However, I think it would be a mistake to reject other equipment possibilities out of hand just because they are not Shindo. I plan on enjoying the time I have with my Shindo equipment while keeping my ears open to other interesting products. Too many people treat Audio like it's a zero sum game. It's not.

I've been practising Shindoism for the past 4-5 years and when I look back, its been the most stable period in terms of gear upgrade for me. I've listened to a lot of other very nice systems but the only ones that really draw me in and keep me interested are Shindo systems. I also appreciate not having to mess with expensive power cords or speaker wires, I know that Shindo ICs and A23s work best so I'm happy to stick with them. So I think the only upgrades that I'll make going forward will involve trading up to upper end Shindo gear.

Excellent comment. There is so many great brands out there that do it right. Yes, Shindo is one them.
