Maintenance Personnel Woes
Hello. I just wanted to share an “encounter of the unfortunate kind” that involved more than likely the HVAC maintenance person that was working on the upstairs HVAC system yesterday. The reason that I say “more than likely” is that the problem has never presented itself before, and the evidence in the photos that are posted are quite revealing. Please mind that my posting is not about me beating upon maintenance personnel, I just wanted to post my presenting problem for the time being and hold good conversation. Anyway this morning I went upstairs and went into my sound room to settle in for some listening time. I noticed dust and debris by the McIntosh display and immediately went to the equipment rack and saw the same problem on the top of the racks. I have 2 vents in the room located above each location of the fallen dust and debris. I grabbed a flashlight and headed for a look-see in the attic where the upstairs HVAC system is located. I discovered a problem fairly quickly and will be heading to Lowes/Home Depot to obtain some HVAC repair tape. All is well and no worries. I have always felt the need to keep an additional shelf above the equipment because “gravity hurts.” In this case the equipment was well protected and certainly equipment coverslips would add an additional layer of protection. The below photos show my system and the “encounter of the unfortunate kind.” Feel free to share your own experiences with mishaps such as this or any other matter that was unfortunate involving your equipment.
Regards
