This has been a great product on the Pro side. I've been eyeing it for home use. They make a two channel version. Anyone has thoughts on it's features for home use?

Mike.......This product is designed for live performance, not home audio. The application of the features that the DBX DriveRack PX has been designed for is not really synergistic with home audio. For example, why would you wish to get classic DBX compression and the protection offered by graceful PeakPlus limiting? This works in live venues to control extreme peaks from blasting the audience through the PA systems being used. Then there's the Subharmonic Synthesizer that creates fake bass frequencies to add into the real frequencies to boost the bottom end for PA systems that may not be as bass heavy as a band may want it to be. The dual 28-band graphic EQ is done in the digital domain with the built in 24-Bit DAC, all for $399.00. I have to ask myself why anyone would want to use a low priced, do all made in China component, designed for use by small live performance bands, in a high-end home audio system. It certainly has a use in live performance applications where a small band cannot afford far better, but I see no use for it in home audio. Just my two cents worth.

It would be interesting to compare, though. To see if the $400 solution can get near competing with a much more expensive product.

I know the law of diminishing returns is well present, but then so is the theory of justification for higher priced components.
