'cisco.......Why stop short of the goal line? The Auditors are just a waypoint, albeit a very nice waypoint, but no cigar. Go for the gusto. Bring home a pair of Sonus Faber Guarneri Memento. That's a touchdown!

In that price range have you checked out any Harbeth speakers?
Of course, for monitors I always recommend Spendor. They really tell the truth, good or bad.

I haven't had the pleasure of hearing the Harbeth
......but I did hear the Sonus Faber's (don't remember the model) in the late 80's in SF. I was mesmerized..... how can such a small speaker sound oh so nice ...... but it was out of my budget at the time

My Linn dealer carries the SF line and I've heard these speakers as well as some of their other models- I still prefer my Spendors. Harbeth really lacks bass- some prefer this though.

The MC501 x 2 will not be far behind. You will love the Cremona Auditors As for the memmentos, they will do things with imaging that I have not heard with any other speaker.

I assume you are talking about the Memento's you heard at my house? Come over and listen to the Wilson Sophia 2.
