From the PrimaLuna website: "The four 12AU7’s on the outside are driver tubes...The two tubes in the center are the input tubes, and that’s where you want to have fun later if you wish by experimenting with different tube brands."

I put the two Brimar's in the input tube locations (V11 and V12).

This was one of the main reasons why I opted for a regular Dialogue instead of the HP variant as well. 😀 I am also in South Florida.

To my ear, a single set of power output tubes per channel always sounds better than multiple sets. Have found this to be true regardless of the marque.

In my experience and to my ears, the single device (tube or SS) in single-ended amps or single pair in PP amps always sound more coherent, faster & cleaner with less hangover or grunge, as matching components is so much simpler. All this said, I'm jonesing to try a Pass Labs INT-150 in my system. Can't get many more output devices per channel than the 20 per side that Pass is using. Nelson must have a secret somewhere in his design as his amps always approach the "minimalist" sound I generally prefer. YMMV, and 'go figure'.

Congratulations on your new equipment. I almost bought one of those Prima Luna's recently, but found a great deal on a used Accuphase E-470 instead. But I sure am looking forward towards your critical listening impressions with those gorgeous speakers!

Hopefully you find this thread again! I'm looking at adding a Primaluna to my Pass XA30.5 but I'm not sure what this pairing would be like.

Did you end up keeping the HP or stick with your tube prem/SS power combo? I really enjoy the Pass Labs and won't get rid of it any time soon.
