Default Brother Steve Update!

For those who know me from a prior life,

Just a quick update for all of you who expressed interest in my brothers journey from his encounter with a car on February 20th. He remains in a hospital (his third), but his brain injury has now healed, and he has been cleared from speech thearpy etc. His right hand while weak is getting stronger, and his keyboeard skills are coming back nicely. His right leg which took a lot of the impact is an issue that he may well live with the rest of his life. However, Steve is back! I picked him up from the hospital on Wed. to go to the local bank to set up a checking account for him, and he handled the wheelchair transfers with no problem, and really enjoyed his first trip outside a hospital since Feb 20th. We then took him to my house where I fixed Broiled Maryland Bluefin Crab Cakes, Roasted Aparagaus, and real baked Idaho Potatoes which he devoured. He then asked to be taken back to the hospital so his bass player could deliver the set sheets for a party they are playing on Aug 21st. He is determined to play that gig, and I checked his stands to make shure he can play the keyboards from his wheelchair. It has been a hard journey since that night in Feb, but a real insight into the ability for a human to survive the worst that could happen. Kudo's to the University of Maryland Shock Trama Unit (9 weeks in ICU) for saving Steve's life, and Kernan Hospital for his Brain Trauma Rehab, and Western Maryland Hospital for bringing Steve to his present condition. God bless all of You!
Life really is an amazing adventure,
Jim

I didn't know about this from before, but I wish him the best.

Thanks for the support, Did not want to burden anyone, but thought a few converts from AK might appreciate an update. He's working on his chops, and wants me to take him to rehearse with the band next week! This is very cool to watch. Best thing is he is attacking his leg rehab. This will be my last post on this issue, and I want to say thanks to those who reponded so graciously.
Regards,
Jim
