Default KT-150s driving Guarneri EVOs

Very interesting tubes. Not sure what I can compare them too.
Just received yesterday afternoon and have only 24 hours on the tubes at this point.
Going to give them more time before I do any real assessment. Also going to compare to KT-120s and EL34s.
Bass seems to be a whole new ballgame. Considerably more low frequency control.

Jason.......Those KT150 tubes sure make the amp chassis look stuffed to the gills. How many hours are on the new PrimaLuna HP integrated now?

I'd guess 165 total hours at this point.
28 hours on the KT-150s.

Jason.......I'd guess the hard parts in the amplifier are close to fully broken in but the new tubes will need about 50 to 60 hours. I remember you commenting in a different thread that the EL34 tubes were your favorites. I assume you are trying the KT150 out hoping for additional output power.

Looking for more low frequency control and clarity.
Early clues say this is the tube that offers bass control that seems very un-tube-like.
Still offers bloom, but none of the missing bottom edges of notes.

I'll wait a bit more before I really give an opinion, but early signs are very positive in this regard.

Jason, love your set-up! Do let us know what you think of the Prima Luna / Sf / KT-150's combination once everything is broken in.

Thank you Esteban!
The KT-150s are definitely staying. Really, really interesting tube. Unlike any other I have tried. Lower frequencies are glorious in my opinion. My personal test of bass is "Air" on "The Thin Red Line" soundtrack. With KT-120s in place, it just couldn't grasp the deep realistically startling bass. The KT-150 is a different story. Well controlled and deep with clean bottom edges. Highs are kind of hard to describe. Very detailed but warm. At first I almost thought they were slightly rolled off, though after spending real time with them, I don't believe that to be the case at all. I know it sounds cliche, but I can really listen deeply into a recording with them. Almost nothing irritates the ear. Very well balanced sound - at least with my current gear. Imaging is better than any other tube I have tried (EL34, KT88, KT-120). They are costly, but if your amp will handle them, I would heartily recommend taking them for a spin.
