Hello Lakesailor, I can identify with your small listening room. My listening room is a small too, a shoeboxed-shaped room. I got out my tape measure and calculator to set up my room using the standard audiophile speaker set up formula listed below--surprisingly I'm getting very good sound that does not bother the wife too much.

Speaker to side wall: Room Width x .276
Speaker to rear wall: Room Width x .447
Speaker to opposite side wall: RW x .724
Speaker to speaker: Room Width x .447

Philly 7B Preamp (Western Electric JW 396A based) Counterpoint SA-100 (Natural Progression basic upgrade), 27" iMac, Eastern Electric MiniMax Plus DAC, Paradigm Signature S1 V.3 on Paradigm stands, Acoustic Zen Silver Reference & Matrix IC, Alpha-Core Goertz Speaker Cable, WireWorld Aurora & Stratus PC & Matrix power extender

Small rooms definitely have their challenges…in this case we gutted the room - the existing studs were cross braced and screwed.. roxul acoustic insulation was stuffed between the studs...Quietrock drwall was "floated" off the studs with some rubber that was cut down (the rubber came from an unrelated industrial application) afterwards green glue was used to basically adhere the quiet rock down to the studs with the rubber in between (we used an LPU to attach the rubber) Forgot to mention also ran one dedicated 20 amp circuit while the walls were gutted. The Quiet Rock is a pretty amazing product. I also put some of the leftover sheets on the walls of my HT room with it and the difference is very noticeable even when having a conversation.

Default Living room system....

Finally got my upstairs system setup and dialed in….while the downstairs dedicated room is primarily for vinyl the upstairs setup is for digital…took a while to get my hi-res sorted out but it is now sounding great. The Musical Fidelity A1008 is also a hybrid integrated with enough current to drive the power hungry Totem’s…..eventually I wouldn’t mind a DD turntable added to this system…..

I was never actually a Totem fan until I ended up with a pair....great WAF and surprising bass for a compact floorstander....

Overall freq. response is 32 Hz - 21 kHz - works very well in this room. No need for a sub !

I have to get one of those Fuji X10's as well....these pictures suck !

A perfectly craptacular day for staying indoors and listening to 'tunes

You have a choice to have the claws sit right on the floor or you can use some ball bearings that fit into a recess underneath each claw.....

How about some more pic's of the Dane's ????
