Going tomorrow afternoon to a dine in cinema with reserved seating and when I bought tickets today I had the option of every seat in the theater. What's up? Is no one going to see this movie? Saw Thursday night opening numbers about half what they were hoping for.

Looks like Star Wars "fatigue" may be a real thing. The reviews have been mixed to good, but you can kind of tell some of the magic waiting for new Star Wars movies has been tempered by the most recent releases. I'll never forget the anticipation before the Phantom Menace came out, that was hype beyond belief.

For Phantom Menace the hype I feel was much deserved. Episodes 4,5, and 6 were such huge successes and then the long wait until P.M. came out, you can imagine it was a public relations dream.

We're going to see Solo on Tuesday. The girl in the ticket booth when we picked up the tickets said that Solo tickets were selling at about a 3 out of 4 rate.

The movie was decent but saw it in an 80% empty theater in Dallas today at 1:15 ... was kind of surprised to almost have an empty theater for a star wars on opening weekend.

Haven't been to a theater in ~14 years. Not as pleasant in several ways as my own.
There are ~ a dozen screens minutes from me and many more, maybe, down the hill; an Imax in Sac, if still there. I saw something there once. There might still be a few drive-ins at one location along hwy 50, but probably went teats up by now

I have been super disappointed in the overall shallowness of recent Star Wars movies.

I liked Rogue One though. I will not be catching Solo in theaters. Han Solo is my favorite Star Wars character and they did him real dirty in the recent films.

I was a Star Wars nerd and read all the books. The complete fire bombing of the Star Wars novels pissed me off. The character development in the books was much more in line with Lucas’ original idea for each of his characters IMO.

Oh well, such is life I guess
