Projectman.......Wrong to you perhaps. Opinions are like, well you know. Everyone has one. Your comment is just an opinion, too, and worth about as much as anyone else's. Like most opinions, its highest value is held by its author.

I have to mostly agree about her singing; I'm not a huge fan of her voice but I still like the music. In my opinion her best album is Stepping Out where she plays more and sings less than in her later albums.

About anti skating:

I've tried the blank 4th side, with antiskating at 0 and then at max value (3) on my SME V; same result, the arm goes quickly to the center of the vinyl!!!
So I came back to the Tracking force value, which is 1,75 g for my Lyra Delos.
Can someone tell me why? Or how do you process to check the antiskating?

PS: I (we, with my wife) love Diana Krall even on the latest albums, to me her best or one of her best is "Love Scenes", and we have bought our places for her her Olympia Paris october concert!

Skating forces are different on a blank record than when the stylus is in a groove. If you use a blank record to set A/S it is recommended to set it on the inner portion of the record where the leadout groove would be, and when properly set the arm should slowly drift inwards towards the spindle. If you set it to be stable on a blank record (if you can even set it that high) you will have way too much A/S force. With an arm like your SME you can be reasonably confident that setting it to match your tracking force should be fine.

Bill.......Good advice. That is exctly what I did with my SME 309. I figured if SME engineers give advice on anti-skate settings for their tonearm, I should listen.

Now let me gently nudge this thread back on the original topic.

Whatever happened to

"If You Can't Say Something Nice, Don't Say Anything at All"?

Every time a thread starts with an artist release, the haters start up. Could you try to put your opinion in terms of something constructive or a positive twist like Dan tries to do (and does very well)... This is happening more and more on gear topics as well. I think a little less negativity goes a long way.

Remember that many of us take our passion for certain artists and audio gear brands very personally. When you say something negative in a dismissive way it stings.

Again, just one more opinion. I listen to the project from Diana as a whole. I've enjoyed this album. Each to his own.

Jimmy

Gave this album a listen the other day. Can't say I care for it as much as her work from the past.

I have played it twice on my Den System and find the soundstage, piano and bass fiddle authenticity quite remarkable on some tracks. Her performance makes me feel like I am having a "coffee shop" experience with the best seat in the house. She is a particular flavor but I enjoy her. Valerie likes it as well.
