David.......I am so pleased with the performance of my Ortofon Cadenza Black. I have no desire to go anywhere else. I believe the Cadenza Black is the price to performance sweet spot in Ortofon's moving coil cartridge catalog. Color me a happy camper.

I agree with Dan about the Cadenza line being the sweet spot for value in Ortofon's superb MC cartridge line, although I went with the Bronze version for a touch more warmth compared to the Black. However I have heard enough of their products to know that the A95 would be a significant step up in performance given that they have declared it as their new reference model. That ultra level of performance comes at a price which is not directly correlated with the price, as you are then at the point of diminishing returns. However on an absolute performance level I'd bet that it is a true step up from their lower cost models. Of course, YMMV applies!

Bill.......I also own the Ortofon Cadenza Blue. I am equally impressed with it's sound and performance on my Micro Seiki turntable. The ruby cantilever is quite the sight, too. It is a very nice sounding moving coil cartridge.

I have a 2M black. The A95 does have an interesting design. I will be interested in hearing what it sounds like.

I now have the A95 on my Aries 3D. It was quite a step-up in detail from my Soundsmith modified Cadenza Red. Given the low output, I've added the Ortofon ST-80 SE (step up) to feed my C2500. I think I've gone in head-first to this return to analog and I am really enjoying it!!
