Default Steve's system aka SL1800

Finally I can post some pics of my new system. Audio has been my passion since I was 15 years old and I'm 50 now so it's been a long time!!! This room is a back bedroom only 12' x 15' x 8' so it's somewhat small and it pulls double duty as 2 channel high end and home theater.

The room acoustics will get a facelift, perhaps next winter. I plan to rebuild the absorption panels on the side and rear walls with some dark woods to match the equipment rack and amp stands that I recently built.

The equipment is as follows. Martin Logan Summit X speakers for my mains and ML Stage X center, ML FX2 surrounds and ML BF212 sub. Main amplification is 2 McIntosh MC275's, bridged gives 150 watts to each Summit X. Amplification for the center and surrounds will be a Emotiva XPA3 when it arrives, 200 watts/per channel. Pre is a McIntosh C2300 and surround pre/pro is a Emotiva UMC-200. Digital source is a Mac mini using jRiver feeding a Oppo 105D which is also my cd player and blue ray player. Turntable is a home made solution using a VPI platter and bearing and a VPI stainless motor, arm is a Michell Techno arm and cartridge is a Ortofon 2M Blue. The turntable is made from MDF cut and painted to look like a VPI Aries 3. Phono pre is built into the C2300. All cables are Canare home made cut to length and power cords are home made 12 gauge with 3 Emotiva CMX-6 power strips.

The acoustic treatment is a mix of home made and ASC tube traps. The diffraction panels on the front wall can be removed to reveal the Panasonic 60" plasma.

As I stated at first I have chased audio perfection all my life and finally I'm really happy with the sound I'm getting. Yes I know the upgrade bug will hit again but not for a while I hope.

Thanks for looking.

Steve, nice room, I bet the Summit X sound great. Did you make the diffused centered on the wall behind them?
