Do you have problems with slap-echo reverberation and, if so, have you attempted to try to control it at all? Clap your hands together and see if you have echoes. My room had about six distinct echoes before dying off to silence and I felt it needed to be controlled.

Also, I have a similar room with a projector about 16' away from a 120" screen. The light colored ceiling and walls in my room caused the screen to wash out on occasion and I have installed dark grey anechoic foam on three walls (front and the two sidewalls) and painted the ceiling a matching dark color. The screen really pops now and I no longer have the issue with back-scattered light messing with the image. Also, the foam has stopped most of the unwanted reverberation as well. I still have light colored carpet and am considering going dark with the carpet as well. Of course, a dark, almost black, room is not for everyone and I wouldn't have been able to get away with it had it not been done before I got married.

Yeah, I waffled on the ceiling. Was tempted to go dark, but at the other end of this room is my office desk and a comfy reading chair and large set of built in bookcases for my wife's books. The room is only part-time theatre so the light ceiling won out, but whenever I watch a movie the bright ceiling is a definite distraction.

I will try the clap test -- I'd love to hear about what treatments you used, and how you employed them to control your echoes. I've been searching, but have not found any good resources on room treatment.

Just revisiting all the member systems for some eye-candy on this cold, dark New Years' Eve and noticed your equipment racks are slightly angled in towards seating. I like this a lot, looks good and more original than just squared off to the wall. 10/10!

Thanks. I initially angled them in so the remotes would work better, but found that I also liked the way it looked. I have it set so the back legs of the first stand line up with the front legs of the second rack. With open sides, it also makes it easier to hook up cables to the equipment.
