Today I played a bit again with the new microphone for my A7R Sony camera, still getting some noise, will try another cable. (maybe this happens in the camera)

This song really shines in my room, voices are full and nicely positioned in the soundstage. (recording doesn't really capture this)
This time streaming through the Ayre DX-5 DAC. (24/176 master recording)

Magico V3, Accuphase E-600, Ayre DX-5 DAC, AudioAanZee streamer - YouTube

Hi Winniepoo,

Please take note that all I am writing is my opinion and what I am looking for in a stereo system. Both E-600 and E-560 are great amplifiers but how they work in a system depends a lot on your listening room, speakers, source, etc.

What size of room do you have, and which speakers are you planning to drive ?

Best way is always to try the equipment at your own home, I am lucky that my Accuphase dealer always lets's me try the equipment with no strings attached.

Hi Olaf,
I am thinking about an Accuphase Integrated Amplifier for my pair of Focal 1028BE in my 30m˛ living room.
I exclusively listen to Hi Res flac or DSD files through my modified Oppo BDP105EU.
I have an Accuphase dealer nearby that should recieve an E-460 in the next few days and an E-600 in the next few weeks. I am planning to listen both of them on my system if I can

Olaf,
Another great vid. Your room is sounding nice..
So, you can officially edit your system signature now I supposed.

Tomorrow the payment will go out for the E-600, then I will change the signature. Good thing is that I don't have to wait for a new one.

Hi Winniepoo,

Both E-600/E-460, will be a good match with the Focals, I used to have the 1037be. Try both the E-600 and E-460 if possible, I am almost sure you will prefer the E-600. (it will have more then enough power to fill a 30m2 room with the 1028Be, and the mids/highs will be more refined)

Olaf

By the way bvdiman, would love to hear/see a video from your system, if it sounds as great as it looks, it will be fantastic.

Hello there

hows your E-600 going Olaf ? long time no news

I will have the chance to test an E-460 and an E-600 for 3 days starting tonight.
That way I'll be able to compare both to my current setup and then compare them to each other in order to determine wether I stay with my current setup or go for an Accuphase (which of them to be determined after listening)

Hi Winniepoo,

Good you have them both at home, 3 days is cutting it a bit short though, hopefully you can get a good comparison done.

I guess both will be new and have to be broken in, my E-600 started out great straight out of the box and after it took a turn for the worse, took around two weeks before getting back and beyond the starting level.

The next four weeks I will have to miss listening to my system, travelling offshore again for a four week rotation.

Have fun trying the amplifiers

Olaf
