Default Shindo Preamp faceplate screw size?

Does anyone know the Torx head size that one should use for removing Shindo preamp faceplate screws (specifically Masseto in case they differ)?

A set of torx bits is pretty cheap at Sears or Home Depot.

Hi, it's a 2.5mm HEX screw...

Get a set of Bondhus T handle drivers.. they are the best from my experience.

Why do you need to take the faceplate off, btw..

Thanks Matt, I was clearly going off in the wrong direction ...
In answer to your question, through the window I can see quite a lot of dust on the floor of the tube compartment that has dropped in through the vent above and want to clean it out ... before it starts to smoulder!

After further investigation, I'm still a bit confused about the difference between Torx and Hex. Attached is a picture of the screw head. Is this what is called a Hex screw in the USA? The CR-VT 20 Torx bit I have found in my bits and pieces tool box seems to fit fairly well and the hole in the bit fits over the round protrusion in the centre of the screw hole.

Hey Tony, Torx head with a pin the centre as shown is what's called a security Torx, most generic Torx bits will have a recess for the pin

Torx - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My Masseto has plain hex screws on the faceplate

Why remove the faceplate when you can remove the top cover?
