Schiit Yggdrasil DAC piques my attention

I’ll acknowledge this....paint “can” be superior than anodization, if done right. Is Schiit black the Schiit?

Personally, I think the silver cases are much more attractive. But my audio gear is a hodge-podge of colors, aluminum EAR 324, Schiit Gumby, Shunyata Triton and champagne-colored Conrad-Johnson. I'm not really concerned much with matching aesthetics....just whatever works.

Mike.......As I understand it, the boards are manufactured and stuffed just down the road, and the chassis and case tops are manufactured at a metal shop across town. These are true Made in the USA components.

That is correct. Schiit strives very hard to build as much of the product in the USA with a very high domestic parts content. There a few electrical components they source from China, e.g. wall warts, which they have very tight specifications for, but they try very hard to have as much domestic USA component and parts content as possible.

Exactly right! They try to source everything from the immediate area, right down to the transformers!

I know you had reservations with Schiit in general, at least once upon a time. Have those fears have been alleviated? If so, when are you pulling the trigger on a Yaggy?
