Does your 800 series D3 disappear all the time?

Certain part of the track, it does but when certain separate instrument is playing, it draws my attention to the speakers.

I moved myself forwards into the equilateral triangle and around to see if it disappears but still can see where it is coming from.

Does yours rock slightly too when you push it side to side? I have secured most of the locking nuts back up but it still rock a bit when I push it. I think it is most stable on the castors. Having said that, the sound is more solid on the spikes.

Depends on the mix, if the mix is strictly on 1 speaker then it'll pull to that speaker. That said I feel like the speakers have 99.5% disappeared. Better than any other speaker I've had in the room including 802d2 Strads and Rockport Aviors.

Toe in is right behind the ears, but pretty aggressive. Look at the stereophile measurements, especially lateral and vertical to get a feel of what happens to the FR when toed in or out.

The one thing I noticed about the BW 803/802/800D3 is the lack of baffle accentuates a more spread out propogation of the sound waves meaning they tend to interact with the room quite a bit.

The one way to contend with it is room correction like MEN220 or treating the room.

If you correctly address first reflection points laterally and to the ceiling, you will notice the image really REALLY become phantasm-like and 3D. Next step is to correct for bass response with bass traps to each corner or near the vicinity of each speaker to ameliorate some of the SBIR.

After that, some diffusion towards the rear of the room. Absorption to the rearmost (behind the ears) wall if you're within 3-4 feet of the rear, diffusion if further out.

Yes and no. Just treat.

I have experimented enough to realize there are pros and cons to each method. If you diffuse then you don't affect anything below the diffusion threshold therefore you will have reflections at those frequencies.

It's really up to you.

That said, in my room because it is smaller in size, I opted for absorption.

As it is, I am happy enough. I think I got to try repositioning it to see if the staging improves.

To my ears so far, I think the system can get away without any room treatment.

The bass and echo control with furniture sound pretty good as is.

Hey guys, I just got the opportunity to trade my 803D3s up for a pair of 800 D3s. My question is about my room size and if it's big enough to support the larger speakers.

Here are the specs

13.1 back wall to TV
16.11 side to side
12 foot ceilings

I will have a Mx160 for room correction.. should help some, right?
