Default B & W and Daredevil

I was watching the series Daredevil on Netflix and in episode 8 they show 800's in the villains apartment. They look attractive but it did hurt to see them so close to the rear and side glass walls and also being towed in towards the dining room table. Not sure why there is a large center speaker on a glass wall with no screen or monitor above it. Very strange placement - looks pretty though. Perhaps when the blinds come down and room correction is applied it sounds ok from the dining room table.
