Hi themaxx,

Warranties are reduced on discontinued items, regardless of their condition (used or new in the box.) The reason for this is pretty simple. We are required to keep parts in stock to service products 7 years after the end of production. At the very least, good customer service demands this. However, the supply of parts for discontinued products is finite. The further away you get from the last date of production- the more limited the supply.

In the past we have had dealers who have kept new products in stock for 10 or more years after they were discontinued. As a manufacturer, we can't very well offer a warranty on something that we may not even have parts to repair. There are limits. Hence the incentive to our dealers to sell off their inventory in an expeditious manner.

My suggestion- talk to the dealer and we can work with them on something reasonable- this is an HTM1D after all! My experience with loudspeakers is that they are very reliable. In my twenty years in the business, I've only needed to replace two drivers on any of the products that I've personally worked with. Feel free to contact me here, or at the number below if you have any questions.

Regards,

Patrick Butler
