At work, doing the night shift. Because I had to go back to sleep after I moved the speakers upstairs, I was not able to even move them beyond the gameroom and into my stereo room. The stereo room is so messy right now, GIK panels come in 7 days... so I'm not going to have a great idea of the sound until next week.

I go home in 20 minutes so I'm going to start clearing the stereo room.... and I'll start to move the speakers to their spots and then I'll spike them when I find a good spot.

Someone asked about amplication...

My system goes:
Cary 306 SACD as source (w/ digital inputs, need to get a streamer)
Cary SLP05 preamp
Cary 211FE tube monoblocks

Dedicated 15x17' room. Too bad it is on the 2nd floor. Next house, stereo room has to be first floor... that was a pain man....I can't imagine lugging the 800 diamonds.

Home at last, excellent.

The foam pallet on one of my 800's was very damaged during shipping but the speaker and box itself were just fine.

"what are you guys doing??? They're supposed to remain on the pallets!"
"they're only speakers..."
"those are $15,000. Put them back on the pallets."

so they placed them back on the pallets but not before they chipped a piece of the black foam on one of the speaker bottoms... So stupid. How can they be so callous??

Anyway, hoping everything is safe and sound inside the boxes. They remained in their pallets up until 3 minutes before i got to the truck.
awesome!

B&W does a good job of packing their 80x series speakers. Just be careful you don't poke a driver by accident. With help you can lay them on their side to install the spikes by grabbing the "head". It will move put they say it is okay to do so. The spikes may or may not come with the speaker. They will supply one set to the original owner but I think they shipped separately. Beautifully designed spikes.

Unboxing the 211 FE is the worst experience... I have only uncrated and unboxed 1 and I'm tired. Took me 30 minutes. Tightest packaging dimensions in history.

Just wanted to vent.

But I hope that means they are very safe and will be perfect. Can't wait to hear them.

Joey... Looking good! The 802 Diamonds are outstanding loudspeakers. Add two DB1s and see what you think. Enjoy the setup journey.
