I doubt very much that the Burmester can go toe to toe with the Goldmund Eidos Reference Blue or even the Audio Note CDT 5 / DAC 5 Signature.

Hi. Related to Burmester 069, whathifi simply affirmed the true situation, because I know (I have had a lot of them in my listening room and many others compared in the listening room of my delear) most of all top class digital players. If you want to eliminate your doubts, you should listen the Burmester 069 (version with reference line power supply unit), builded as a german tank, and if you are a really music lover you will remain totally blown away
Its sound is incredible natural. Two friends of mine replaced their combo CEC Transport CEC-TL0-X / Audio Note Dac-5 signature, one with the Burmester combo 969-970 and the other one replaced the trasport only with Audio Note CDT 5 (as dac he kept the Audio Note dac-5 signature). Great combo. The last one after 5 months, with a side by side comparison, replaced It with the outstanding Burmester 069. That's all!
