Mark, welcome! I am in the low country, but I venture up your way from time to time. I'd be interested in hearing your comments between the XR200 and the B&Ws.

Best,
Bill

I really tried to like the xr200's the best. I listened to them for a solid month, tweaking placement and finally adding the MEN220. That was a huge improvement because of my challenging room. Bass became much less boomy.
They sounded great, especially after 50-60 hours. However I've been back on the 802d's for the last 10 days. They are more open and detailed. Highs are fantastic, very airy. The sound stage opened up to the point that I get musician placements at or beyond the speakers. Sorry describing what I hear is new to me and not the easiest thing I've tried to do. Bottom line to my ears the XR200's are a bit compressed when I directly compare them to the 802's. It's really funny that some music (rock for example) played at loud volume on the XR's sound really great but with most vocals and classical I prefer the 802's. One thing that the XR's do very well is playing at low listening levels. I think I'm going to move the XR200's to the theater room.

Great feedback. Those two speakers have my strong interest.
