Default SF Cremona vs Cremona Auditors with JL F113 sub??

Other forums say buy the SF Cremona's.
Anyone here ever compared both, with the Cremona Auditors and a good sub vs Cremona's alone?

They are priced similar, including a F113 at retail, so its a good comparison.

The Floor standing, SF Cremona's plus a good sub, is the best choice.
but that is a big swing in $$$.

I compared the cremona's and the cremona auditors and I went with the cremona's. It depends on the room you plan to listen to them in. I am sure that you can get great sound by adding one or two subs to the auditors and a outboard crossover to integrate them. I have plenty of bass with the cremona's, you have 4 woofers (2 per speaker) with a pair of the floor standing 3 way speakers . If the money is the same between the 3 way vs 2 way speakers/sub I would get the 3 way cremona floor standing speakers if you have the room.

What is the room size and what will you be driving them with?

I use to agree up until recently, in regard to, my floorstanding speakers, bass, and the use of subs.
Now without a sub for low hz (set up right), part of the music (low Hz) is missing/weak.

The sub dial in, is tough with Music, HT, Multi-channels, ect ...
Dedicated systems make it easier, to get the subs right.

The Cremona's are a superior speaker (liquid) to me, anyways, but the Auditors with subs, does bring an interesting match up, and different full bottom, sound, on a blind test.

Anyone else hear both, with the sub crutch for the Auditors??

King,

Since you have both... how would you compare the 360's to the SF's?

Thanks in advance.

I am 100% sold on the idea of 2-way speakers + two subs ... provided you are willing to spend some time tweaking the subs' position, level and xover.

I would not be so sure.

Before the Guarneri, I had a pair of Cremona Auditors. I went into the store with the intention of getting the floorstanders but the imaging and soundstage from the Auditors was just amazing. I surprised myself when I came home with the little, gallon-sized, Auditors but I never looked back.

The LS360's do it all well.
SF cremona A as you know play strings, jazz very well.

I will keep the LS360 until dust. Non-fatiguing, at loud or any levels.Very natural that at first, you might think boring until you spend time with them, then it all comes together. Very live music sounding.
Likes to eat watts!
Built like coffins, so I will get a second use out of them.

I was thinking of getting Wilson's after years of positive feed back but, I was not a fan of star wars. (The only guy, in the free world) and they remind my of the lovable R2D2 robot.
Original Star Trek= yes

The 360's are the beat used speakers out there. Value wise. (my opinion)

SF sound, is sweet and very Moving!
Looks like fine furniture to non audio guys and gals.

If you want to hear Zeppelin, Nine inch nails ect= LS360's

If you want to listen to Led Zeppelin at very loud levels (well over 100dbs) the Sonus Fabers might not be the right speakers, but if you listen in the 80, 90dbs, I find that the Sonus Fabers - aided by a pair of subs - sound great on Led Zeppelin ... they are my favorite rock band and I listen to them almost daily so I would never consider a speaker that would not do them justice.

I had to bring this up because I use several LZ tracks when I auditioned speakers. If "Whole Lotta Love" didn't sound like, well, a whole lotta fun, the speaker was out.

The Sonus Fabers sounded particularly appealing to me because the non-audiophile nature of most LedZep recordings can sound fatiguing on some speakers. For example, even without a sub, LZ on the Wilson WP sounded great .... in the bottom octaves - arguably the best and most dynamic rendition of Bonham's bass drums I've heard. But the upper octaves sounded very fatiguing to me.
